Following this, we will arrange for the timely delivery of these materials to ensure a smooth workflow. Additionally, upon request, we will conduct a preliminary leveling of the stud framing to ensure precision and readiness for the next stages of your project.

Incorporating insulation into the walls and ceilings prior to the installation of Sheetrock is a critical step in enhancing both energy efficiency and soundproofing within a space. To achieve the best results, it is essential to carefully select the appropriate type of insulation material that suits the specific needs of the project. Popular options include traditional fiberglass batts, which are known for their affordability and effectiveness, and spray foam insulation, which provides excellent air sealing and thermal performance due to its ability to expand and fill gaps.

For those seeking an eco-friendly solution, we offer greener insulation materials, such as fiberglass-free products and natural options like sheep’s wool. Sheep’s wool not only insulates effectively but also has the added benefits of being a sustainable resource and exhibiting hygroscopic properties that help regulate moisture levels in the environment.

Proper installation of insulation is imperative for maximizing its benefits. This process involves accurately measuring and cutting the insulation to fit snugly between the studs or rafters, ensuring that there are no gaps. Any spaces left unfilled can contribute to drafts, heat loss in the winter, and overworking of heating and cooling systems, ultimately driving up energy costs. After the insulation installation is complete, the next step involves applying Sheetrock. Properly applied, this layer serves as the foundation for a superior final product, ensuring durability and aesthetic appeal in the completed surface.

Once level 2 has fully dried, it’s time to roll up our sleeves and bring out the sander for that perfect finish! We’ll meticulously work over all the joints, seams, corner metal, and screws, applying another coat to ensure everything looks flawless. This is the perfect moment to prime and add texture, turning your space into something truly extraordinary! Now, here comes our secret sauce… The magic really happens when we roll on a high-quality primer with 18” rollers before adding texture or working on smooth walls. This technique is what truly elevates American Mud Drywall above the competition. Just between us, though—don’t let this secret get out!

To achieve a Level 5 smooth wall finish, it is essential to apply an additional skim coat of joint compound over the entire surface area. Once this layer has fully dried, the final step involves sanding the surface once more to ensure optimal smoothness. This is a great option for any art work, murals, high gloss paint etc. We also suggest Level 5 for “light walls”. These are walls in which direct sun light shines across the wall or ceiling. We also suggest this for areas in which the sun is being reflected directly onto a wall or ceiling. Basically any wall in which sunlight exposes any flaws.   

Applying a single coat of high-quality primer is crucial for achieving a superior finish. We always ensure that we prime the surface before applying our textures for either hand textures or sprayed textures. For both Level 4 and Level 5 smooth wall finishes, we meticulously roll on the primer to create an even base, and then we carefully address any additional touch-ups as needed to guarantee a flawless finish..
